Rodney Van Houten is an Accredited Specialist in Criminal Law. Rodney brings to the firm a wealth of experience in Criminal Law with experience in the various Courts from the Local Court, District Court, Supreme Court, Court of Criminal Appeal and the High Court of Australia.

 

Rodney is a member of the following panels for the Legal Aid Commission of New South Wales:
- Court of Criminal Appeal (CCA)
- Specialist Children’s Court - Criminal Jurisdiction.

Karlee graduated from Meriden Girls School gaining a place into the Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Laws double degree at the University of Western Sydney.

 

Upon completion of her double degree, Karlee was admitted into the Supreme Court of New South Wales and soon after began working at Van Houten Law offices, concentrating her skills in the Probate and Commercial law divisions of the firm.

 

Karlee's good-natured, vibrant and highly professional approach to her work is the hall mark of her role at Van Houten Law and is integral in upholding the firm's values of Quality and Excellence.

 

 

Trinh Bui

Trinh is a 2000 graduate at the University of Western Sydney with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Bachelor of Management (BMgt) double degree. Trinh was admitted to practice as a solicitor and barrister in the State of New South Wales, Australia in July 2001. In March 2005, Trinh was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. Trinh joins Van Houten Law as a consultant solicitor concentrating her skills in Family Law and Civil Litigation.

 

As a solicitor, Trinh is very thorough, knowledgeable and always fully prepared before representing our clients in court. As with other members of our team, she is dedicated in striving for quality & excellence. Trinh speaks English and Vietnamese.

 

 

Sonia Van Houten

Sonia is a founding member of Van Houten Solicitors Barristers Notaries Pty Ltd (Van Houten Law) having started the company with her husband and principal, Rodney Van Houten, 18 years ago.

 

In her capacity as Practice Manager of Van Houten Law, Sonia’s role encompasses a variety of responsibilities such as human resources entailing hiring and overseeing staff, paralegal work, accounting and administration as well as providing the Lawyers with secretarial assistance. Sonia holds a certificate in Legal Procedures having qualified with a High Distinction and has a solid knowledge of Conveyancing, Wills & Probate, Criminal and Family Law as well as Civil Litigation.

 

Sonia enjoys the variety her role offers and her efficiency in attending to property settlements and assisting the firm’s lawyers in the areas of Criminal, Property and Family Law, Civil Litigation and Wills & Probate matters is outstanding. Her warm and caring personality not only ensures the primary concern of the firm’s clients’ interests at all times but has also endeared her to the firm’s client base.
